I'm Posting Differently This Year.
Some Updates.
This post is going up on both my blogs, I’m following the same principles for each.
Blogs aren’t YouTube, which means I feel a little safer experimenting, and this year I’m going to do a substantial experiment with my upload schedule.
In 2025, my goal with the blogs was to post a paid post and a free post on both every single week, and ideally on the same days each week. This year I’m following the “consistent-day” principle — posts from my blogs will come out on Tuesdays and Thursdays (with perhaps an exceedingly rare extra upload), but it will only be two posts per week. Paid posts will be every 3rd or 4th post, with my plan being to make more posts paid as the year goes on.
However, I actually have the capacity and desire to write more, what I’m going to do as I write more than my weekly planned posts is schedule them (trying to keep timeliness in mind) so that I initially “complete” my twice weekly posts. Once I’ve done that, I’ll start working back and forth between the end of the year and the present date, increasing the density of posts. The idea here is that by the end of the year we should have a really high density of posts on each blog, potentially a couple a week. This also creates a nice holiday buildup, but also a higher density of posts that ramps up instead of hits by surprise.
I’d love to hear your thoughts on this, I’m sort of still open to changing my mind, but I think this plan is pretty solid!
