Ha, I have a few pairs of Smartwool hiking socks which I love (and wear in the winter even when not hiking). This might convince me to try the more everyday ones!
You don't want 100% wool socks. I've knitted them and they break way too easily. Now I only knit socks that have some nylon or polyester. It's key to keeping them durable!
I’m a big huge fan of Allbirds Wool Runner Mizzles sneakers. They’re also merino (I’m 99% certain), and they have some sort of eco-friendly material in the rubber sole (Beatles reference not completely intended) that keeps your feet fairly dry in light to moderate rain. I wear them year-round, including to my pizza making job. I think they’re finally getting around to opening some brick and mortar stores in Canada (I live in NYC); they may have one at the Yorkdale mall IIRC, so you can try them on and see for yourself. Worth every penny.
It's funny, its one of those products you'd *think* I'd have tried, but I have not. They did have a store at Yorkdale (was with family as *they* bought shoes from them), but I've never even tried a pair on.
Will seriously consider as I need some new shoes and American brands are off the table at the moment!

Yeah I think this is what I heard online. Plastic is a strong material!
